THE CLOCK TOWER

A collaborative Indie project with fellow artist Moss Healy, following twelve time travellers locked in a battle for their freedom with the deity of Fate.

Character Design

12 Time Travellers and 2 creators means an even split down the middle. Moss and I each created 6 of our main cast from eras that interest us the most, and as a result have created a compelling, complex gathering of figures from all sorts of eras. As well as my 6 time travellers, I have also designed our story’s two deities; Fate, and her sister Time.

Miles Wilson acts as the audience’s eyes. We start the story on the fateful day he is whisked away into the world of The Clock Tower by his fellow time travellers. An anxious 17 year old living in London at the tail end of the COVID-19 Pandemic, Miles is crushed by familial expectations and desperately trying to find his passions again.

Ben is a quintessential skater from 1990s California. The youngest of the team, he is a jokester who sees it as his sole job to keep spirits high and everyone upbeat. Still, he’s hiding some secrets beneath that loud personality.

Onesiphorus was a soldier fighting in the trenches of the Somme. A silent, stoic vision of power, he acts as the team’s protector - never faultering in the face of anything. In all of his unwavering strength, there is a heart of gold hidden beneath his uniform.

Tweedie is a discreet male sex worker from late Georgian Edinburgh. A confident air and a cheeky grin carries his every move, and he tries to be helpful and lift up the team in hard times, even although he is clearly weighed down by the hard life he has lived.

Effie is a headstrong warrior from the Scottish borders in the era of the Reivers. Her father needed an extra hand on the raids, so recruited her. Powerful and battle-ready, but gentle at heart with her childhood leading to a warped perspective.

Jeanne LeClercq is a lawyer from revolutionary France, specifically fighting for the rights of women to be seen and heard. She holds a powerful voice among the men she works with, and is driven by righteousness but held back by fear.

The sister deities, Fate and Time, oversee all things in the world. Fate - our main antagonist - operates the lives of humans on a concise path they cannot stray from. The Time Travellers threaten her entire being, and she sees it as her requirement to stop them.
